Welcome to the Circus! (@ PCPL)

Welcome to the Pulaski Co. Public Library Children's blog. We hope that this is a way for us to keep you updated on the comings and goings of the Children's Library. Our library functions with the help of the following staff members (aka the Ringmasters):
Miss Carol: Children's Librarian
Miss Vicki: Assistant Children's Librarian
Nikki- Librarian's Assistant
Lindsey- Librarian's Assistant
Sonya- Librarian's Assistant
Raeann- Librarian's Assistant
Our Library is considered organized chaos, kind of like a circus *wink*. We provide services and a welcoming environment for children ages 1 day to 12 year of age. We encourage children to play, socialize, and above all develop a love of READING. We are not a quiet library!
Within the walls of the Children's Library, our goal  is to promote emergent literacy. We do this by using stories, songs, finger plays, and art.

Because children begin to comprehend and process knowledge at a young age we use many different techniques and skills to help them along the process...
  • Music is multi-sensory and activates the brain.
  • Repitition is the key to learning.
  • We want to model the love of reading.
  • As children make hand motions they will be developing both large and small motor skills as well as improving rhythmic skills.
  • Art for young preschoolers is all about experimenting and learning.
  • But most importantly, we want them to have fun!
Upcoming Events
** Regularlly Scheduled Infant, Toddler, and Preschool Classes.**
Thursday, Sept. 22nd: American Girl Program @ 6PM
